Doug's 1st Fathers Day!

Today was Doug's first Father's Day...I was supposed to work but I have been struggling to overcome this horrific virus for a week now and I ended up calling off. We spent the day with both of our families, despite the sickness. Gavin was running a fever all day and he took a dip in Auntie Pam's pool and cooled off. He started off in his diaper but it got so heavy that I took it off and Gavin went skinny-dipping! Boy, did he love that! Gavin showed off his new trick, pulling himself up on the couch! He's getting to be such a big boy, he's very brave and thinks he can let go and ends up plopping down on his butt. We ate dinner at Grandpa and Grandma Olson's house and had Diary Queen for dessert...Daddy's favorite! ;)

So much for blogging

Let's try this again....Gavin is 8 months old and turning into quite the little handful....He is a very vocal baby and love his momma! He can say mama, dada, baba, and num num. Doug claims he says hi, but I think it's just a fluke. He can wave hi and bye now and is very close to crawling. He basically just rolls to get to whatever he wants now. Tomorrow we are watching Gavin's cousin, Aubriana during the day while her mom, Stephanie, is at work. It should be an interesting day filled with lots of laughs and lots of work...This past weekend we attended a friends wedding, Gavin came with us to the ceremony and Doug and him wore matching suits...It was simply adorable! Gavin was such a good boy during the ceremony! I wonder if it had anything to do with the Benadryl I gave him prior for the rash on his arms and legs...NO! I don't drug my child on a regular basis! Mindy looked beautiful and it was a perfect wedding, complete with a horse drawn carriage. Doug and I shared a rare adults night out and danced the night away...

My New Camera

I ordered it!! The Nikon D60...After much deliberation and the old camera not showing itself, I decided to take the plunge and purchased a new DSLR. I am so excited to try it out! It's on backorder and should be in within the next week. For now I am going through picture taking withdrawal.....I shall survive....

Lost my Camera

It's official! My camera is lost.....lost or stolen! I don't know where else to look for it....the good news is that I wanted a new camera anyways! I swear I didn't lose it on purpose. I'm so excited to get my new camera, I really want to start photography as a hobby and what a perfect subject I have to practice on! I've been looking at the Nikon D60 and the Canon Rebel, but I'm leaning more towards the Nikon. I've heard lots of good things about it. Oh well, wish me luck!

Feetsies

It's definitely a big week of firsts for our little guy. After I was goofing around and putting his feet in his mouth yesterday, today his feet are his new best friend. Lol...I am the only one to blame! I'm feeling alot better today, this cold really kicked me in the butt...It's been nice being able to snuggle with Gavin all day, both still in our pjs when it's time for bed.

Its About Time

I have been wanting to start a blog for a really long time. Do I need to mention I am a HUGE procrastinator? The main purpose to starting this is so that I can remember the most important days of my life. Gavin was born September 5th, 2008 and he is my angel. He is 5 months and 13 days old and he's growing bigger, smarter, and more beautiful every single day! Today I heard the most beautiful sound a mother could ever hear....Her child giggling. I have been waiting and waiting for him to laugh and today I must have been a little bit funnier than usual. Gavin was lying on his activity center on the living room floor and I was putting his foot up to his mouth...repeating over and over..."Footsie" in a ridiculously annoying voice. He had the hiccups and he started giggling. Doug, my husband, muted the tv and we listened intently. I had Doug hurry up and get the camcorder, but the damn thing wasn't charge...imagine that!! Oh well, I'm sure it won't be the last time my son thinks I'm funny...
